Description

Original Civil War DJ Millard M1860 Cavalry Sword and Scabbard in untouched Museum Quality Condition. This is an excellent example from a very small contract of 10,000 swords and with the very desirable early war 1862 date. The brass handle has a thick patina and the original leather wrap and wire. The matching pommel has faint inspector initials. The blade is full length and in excellent condition. Has the DJ Millard Maker Mark on one side of the blade and "US / 1862 / W.E.H" on the reverse. The scabbard has a very pleasing dark patina with its original throat, drag and sword mounts. An overall wonderful example that will be hard to upgrade. Please see all photos.
