Antique Chinese Wedding Basket, Wood and Bamboo Lacquered w/ Gilt Ornately Hand Painted. Signed on bottom of basket and a matching signature underneath the lid. Decorated with floral and bird motifs. Figure Painting on the lid. Customs Permission label on bottom. Measures approximately 14 1/2" tall x 12 3/4" wide. Dates to the late 1800's. There is some handwriting on the sides and on the lid that I am unable to translate. One side likely has the year on it. It's in overall good condition. The banding around the lid is a little loose, but securely attached. There is a natural crack in the lid and some of the paint has worn off in places, consistent with age of the piece.
